WHSO Donations Simply put, without donations there would be no WHSO!
First and foremost, donations are tax deductible.

In the 2011-2012 school year, we will be sending MS I students to Haiti, Peru, and Panama and MS II students to Ecuador and Nicaragua. However, the cost for sending over seventy students abroad with adequate supplies and medications for our patients can cost a fortune. Each trip is therefore funded by individual student fundraising and donations from friends, family, hospitals, local businesses, corporations, and the Wayne State University School of Medicine Alumni Association.

If you are interested in making donations, please make out a check payable to WHSO for the amount of your choosing. If you would like to make a donation to the organization as a whole, please write WHSO Medicine Acquisition Fund in the memo. If you would like to sponsor the trip of a particular student, please write the name of the student in the memo.

Haiti Trip - 2011
"Thank you" - Haitian kids, March 2011

Please make checks payable to WHSO, and send them to:

Attn: Jeff Kandt, WSU WHSO Treasurer
Richard J. Mazurek, MD Medical Education Commons
Office of Student Affairs-Suite 204
320 E. Canfield Ave.
Detroit, MI 48201

If you would still like to donate for a 2012 spring break trip, we can accept donations by check up until May 1st. After this date, WSU will not process any paper checks until the following school year and your student will have to wait several months for that money. However, the May 1st deadline does not apply to online donations, which can be submitted and processed at any time.
